2021 covid servicing
Updated: April 13th, 2021.
As we find our selves in yet another stay at home order, I can confirm for all customers that we are remaining on the essential services list for marine repairs and continue to be open and operational by appointment only.
If you require service please read below about what is required from you at the time of drop off.
Before dropping your Boat / Motor for Service:
Do you Know your boat / engine information?
Please have as much information as possible on your vessel when dropping off so we may better serve you (i.e. Make, Model, Year, Serial number of both engine and boat)
-is it a brand other than Mercury or Volvo Penta?
-Is it older than 1995?
If YES to either question then unfortunately we will not service the engine, unless pre-authorized by a City Marine senior staff member.
Does the Engine have a Service History with City Marine?
If NO then we will only do a full service / inspection on the boat / engine in order to start developing a History on the boat to better understand what maintenance & parts will be needed or inspected and at what time intervals.
If YES then City Marine will do requested work by client along with quote and recommend any further repairs or replacement items.
Is the engine in for preventative maintenance or Diagnostic repair work?
If the engine is coming for diagnostic work – we require a rough description of the issues you are experiencing along with 1-3 hours (depending on the issue) of pre-auth diagnostic troubleshooting @ our regular labor rate of $155.00 per hour; this DOES NOT include any parts or actual repairs – you can either pre-authorize the repair or have it quoted once we diagnose the problems.
Is the vessel staying for winter or summer storage?
If you know you are planning on keeping your unit stored at City Marine Mississauga or City Marine Grand Valley then please note that storage and shrink wrap (If applicable) will be due upon drop off in the Fall, while winterizing services can be paid upon completion – Payment Plans can be PRE-ARRANGED in order to help if required.
You can also pre-fill a storage contract based on your vessel information and which location you are storing at – contract can be found @ https://citymarine.ca/rates-and-services/labour-rates/
And sent back to: CityMarineGeneral@outlook.com
Worried about going over budget?
We all know what BOAT stands for so if you have a budget you need to stick with and require diagnostic work or even basic maintenance please let us know before any work is completed so we can provide options that work for both ourselves and you the client, and keep everyone on the same page!
As always please provide as much information as possible for your expectations, problems, engines, boats, time or financial constraints, and contact info so we can provide the best service possible!
